Some more user flriendlyness ?

Hi again,

Generally, why can't we navigate between menus entries with the left/right buttons (or the joystick) instead of always having to come back in the menu ?

- In the main screen, while traveling, I'd like to be able to hit one key and be prompted for a new landmark name. Upon confirmation, this would be added to the landmark list (coordinates saved at hit time, not after confirmation)

- The 'Position screen' deserves some formatting for better readability. Some space between labels and related infos would be just fine. Right justification of the infos, even better.

- Landmark list with distance and directions from current position as well as dynamic sorting of the list based on distance ?
My feeling is that the default action when selecting a landmark in the list would be to 'navigate to' or 'make a target', instead of editing the landmark.

- The Track functionality could be clearer.
It isn't very clear to me how to handle the 'More' options regarding the setting' options ('Enable, 'Autostart') . I mean, it seems that even if Enabled and 'auto start' selected the tracking doesn't start if a don't create a New Track, or make one 'current'. How should I use the 'Record' one in such case ? ... not clear to me that stuff, though very useful.

?? Also, Wouldn't it be nice to have a back tracking navigation possibility ?
?? What about a KML format export as to be able to immediately show tracks on GoogleEarth ?

- In the GPS/satellite view, why don't you display the accuracy information in the same screen corners ?

More to come ... ?

Thanks for you work. This applet soars ! I love it !

... more about Landmarks

Comming back to my previous post on Landmarks, I think that an immediate access to the Landmark screen, form the main screen, either to confirm the current position as a new Landmark (first option in list) or to select an existing one for 'navigation' would be a good, straight approach to both issues.
The other Landmark functionnalities would be available from the 'more' button .

Also, in the main screen, the button which displays the 'navigation' screen (large arrow pointing to target of nav point) , could activate the 'compass' screen when no target or nav. point is selected. The 'back' button then naturaly returns to the main screen.
